Grant McKercher is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Atmospheric Science Group working with Dr. Jennifer Vanos to study air pollution in Lubbock, TX. Grant’s research focused on collecting data with low-cost portable monitors along roadways and he was able to find that air pollution levels were higher in specific areas near busy intersections. This is important because ambient air pollution can become more of a problem for human health in a warmer climate.
Videos for Science features graduate students from Texas Tech University explaining their research in regards to climate change. These videos give the viewer an inside look on graduate students collecting, analyzing, and recording data from their instruments.
